The line graph illustrates the per capita meat consumption in four nations - the USA, the UK, Brazil and India - between 1985 and 2019. Overall, it can be seen that all categories showed upward trends, although their growth rates differ. In addition, the UK was overtaken by Brazil in 2005.
At the start of the period, the USA received 90, rising steadily to 140 by 2009, then declined slightly from 140 in 2009 to around 135 in 2019. The UK started to grow significantly from around 75 at the start to 100 after 15 years, and then slightly grew to 110 at the end of the period.
Brazil and India were the only countries without any fall or stop. Brazil climbed sharply from 60 in 1985 to 130 in 2019. Similarly, India started with approximately 17 and doubled at the end to 40.
