The pie charts illustrate information about different types of books by comparing their sales in years 1972, 1992 and 2012. Overall, it is obvious that adult's fiction and children's fiction took the vast majority of sale throughout the period.
None of the books exceeded a quarter of the total until 2012. The figures were shared nearly at the same proportions in 1972, starting with 25% of other kinds of readable materials followed by 20% in adult's fiction, children's fiction and biography books.
Meanwhile, travel books comprised only 15% of sales. In 1992, adult's fiction overtook other types of books at 20%; reaching a quarter of the total. The stability of percentages in sales were kept and resulted in children's fiction(22%), travel(18%) and biography(15%). With a figure of 45%, adult's fiction dominated the chart.
Conversely, other types of books except children's fiction, which constituted an one-fourth of sales, recognised as the least sold books. For instance, biography and travel books accounted for 8% and 10% respectively, while others contributed to 12% of sales.
