Some people believe that competition in work, school, and everyday life is beneficial, while others argue that cooperation is more important. Both sides have valid points, and taking both of them into account may be the most effective. On the one hand, competition can be a strong source of motivation.
When a person compete, they push themselves to improve their performance and get better results. For example, students need to study harder to obtain higher grades, and employees need and may work more efficiently to earn promotions and a rise in their salary. In this sense, competition leads to personal growth, innovation, and higher levels of performance. In addition, it can prepare people, specially the young ones for real life challenges, where results and performance are the key of the success. On the other hand, having too much competition can create stress and unhealthy environments. In schools, the students feel pressured, focusing only on winning and a grade rather than learning.
Same way, in the work, having excessive competition reduce the teamwork and create conflicts between mates. Cooperation, in contrast, push people to share ideas, support each other, and work towards it's goals. This leads to stronger relationships and having a better communication. In my opinion, both competition and cooperation are important, but cooperation is more valuable, While competition can help a person improve, cooperation creates a more positive environment. People can still get success while helping others, and this leads to better results.
In conclusion, although competition can make success easier and push to improvement, cooperation is a key role in building healthy environments. Therefore, a balance between both is strictly necessary, with a focus on working together rather than fighting against each other.
